2020 President’s Letter

Beach Club, Inc.
March 24, 2020
Dear Fellow Members,
We approach the 95th season of the Beach Club with many fears and concerns regarding the COVID-19 public health crisis and have no way of knowing how this may affect the season. At this time, Jeff will proceed with his usual preparations for opening Memorial Day weekend, however, since we rely on many outside vendors to help with these preparations, their availability could cause delays. The health and safety of the membership as well as state and local guidelines will dictate impacts to club usage and events.
Although there are many uncertainties facing us, I do have some updates of interest to report.
Personnel-I am happy to report that Jeff will be back as Manager and has signed a two-year contract. Matt Pomgrace will return as Assistant Manager, Nicole as Swim Manager and Kevin as Night Manager. Jared Hett will assume the role of kitchen manager. Unfortunately, the Swim Coach position remains open, but all other positions are filled.
Financial-On March 20th the Optima/Cambridge Term Loan was fully paid off! We are in process of finding a new bank and securing a $250,000 bank credit line and anticipate it to be in place by the end of April.
Facilities-The outside bathroom renovation project began in mid-January and is progressing very well. So far there has been little impact from COVID-19 and Chinburg Construction plans for the project to be complete in mid-April.
I encourage all members to pay their spring bill by April 30th and remind those who are interested in applying for the Significant Other Guest Privilege to have their application and fee submitted by April 30th.
The Executive Committee will work with our management team to determine any changes to the Club opening, events or impact of usage for summer 2020 and will keep you informed. There is no way to predict what will happen in the next eight weeks. Please stay safe and healthy!
