Beach Club Inc. Executive Committee of Board of Directors Tuesday, February 19, 2019

Present: Garry Layman, President, Rob MacLeod, Treasurer, Jon Mackin, Tiffany McCann, Meganne Fabrega, Jeff Ristau, Manager

The meeting was called to order: 7:02 pm.

Secretary’s Report– January’s Minutes were unanimously accepted and will be posted on the website

Manager’s Report– Jeff Ristau, Manager

Jeff presented the Manager’s Report and answered questions from the board. Jeff discussed projects and work estimates that he has received since the last board meeting. Initial plans are being created by an architecture firm for moving forward on the bathroom renovations that are tentatively slated to begin after the season. The club has survived the winter so far with little to no damage. Jeff met with a commercial cleaning company to get estimates on having the club commercially cleaned during the season. He will be confirming the pool resurfacing date in March. Staff hires continue with some returning staffers, an assistant manager still needs to be hired.

Treasurer Report- Rob MacLeod, Treasurer

Rob MacLeod presented the Financial Report to the board. The 2019 operating and capital expenditures budgets were reviewed and unanimously accepted as presented. The Financial Report was accepted unanimously.

Facilities Report– Jon Mackin, Facilities Chair

Jon updated the board on facility improvements including the purchase of new grills and grill tables, new deck chairs, new office Chromebooks, lighting improvements to the North deck, a fisheye mirror for the parking lot, and resurfacing the diving board. The cost to offer wi-fi to the membership is being explored. Improvement to the beach ramp to improve safety and accessibility is also being explored. Website activity by membership was discussed.

Membership Report– Meganne Fabrega, Membership Chair

As of 2/12/19, there are 279 membership units (99 single, 89 spousal and 91 family) totaling 632 members. One legacy has exercised their option for the upcoming season, and another has notified the chair of her intention to exercise for the 2020 season. This brings the total of new legacy members for the 2019 season to 4 so far. An email will be sent to the membership requesting changes to their billing information and reminding members that the chair needs to hear if a legacy option will be exercised by the date of the potential member’s 25th birthday.

Swim Report– Erik Browning, Swim Chair

There was no swim report.

Social Report-Tiffany McCann, Social Chair

Tiffany updated possible social activities for the 2019 season based on survey comments. There will be more mid-week activities including bonfires and guest speakers. The adults-only event will be held on the Labor Day weekend.

Meeting Adjourned at 8:29 pm. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 6:30 pm at Rye Public Library.
